This Privacy Policy explains how Maple Prep ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use Maple Prep.
Information we collect
Account details (email, hashed password, optional name), your study profile (exam date, target band, daily minutes, estimated levels, weak areas), your practice activity (attempts, submissions, flashcard progress, streaks), and — when you use speaking practice — audio recordings you choose to submit.
How we use your information
To deliver the service: estimate your level, generate a personalized study plan, score writing and speaking practice, track progress, and enforce fair-use limits. We do not sell your personal data.
AI processing
Writing and speaking submissions may be sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate feedback and estimated bands. Audio used for pronunciation assessment may be processed by a speech provider. Submissions are processed to produce your feedback and are not used to train third-party models without your consent.
Your audio and data
You can delete your speaking recordings and your account data at any time from Settings. Deleting your account removes your personal data and submissions from active systems.
Data retention
We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
